Mohamed Aboulnaga is a multidisciplinary Egyptian artist who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria and later earned a PhD in Philosophy of Art. A pioneering figure in material-based practices, he was the first Middle Eastern artist to receive a Japan Foundation grant, which deeply influenced his use of handmade paper and natural fibers.
His work spans painting, installation, video, and printmaking, exploring memory, heritage, and renewal. He has represented Egypt internationally, received major awards, and his works are included in leading collections in Egypt and abroad.
